Senior Analyst
MaryKate Hanlon, Senior Analyst, supports New Forests' corporate systems working across sustainability, policy and market research functions. This includes managing New Forests' commitments to the UN Principles for Responsible Investment and supporting fund-level social and environmental management systems. She also contributes to the company's forest carbon and biodiversity investment projects in Asia Pacific with policy and market analysis and technical support for project development. Previously, MaryKate worked for three years in the company's consulting business, providing advisory services to investors, landowners and intergovernmental organizations on commercialization strategies for environmental assets, including Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation (REDD) and market-based tools for conservation. Before joining New Forests, MaryKate's previous roles included communications director for an environmental non-profit and coordinating academic and field research initiatives focused on indigenous peoples, ecotourism and tropical rainforests in Latin America. MaryKate has a Bachelor's in Anthropological Sciences (Honours) with a minor in Biology and a Master's in Latin American Studies from Stanford University. She is based in Sydney.
