James Bullen

James Bullen, Manager, Operations, Australia-Pacific, leads the operational management of New Forests' assets in New Zealand and the Pacific islands, including working to achieve Forest Stewardship Council or other third-party certification. He also provides technical input and management oversight on several Australian assets. James has over 10 years experience in all aspects of the technical management of large, FSC-accredited forestry projects, including establishment, silviculture, harvesting, forest engineering and marketing. He has worked in Malaysia, New Zealand, the Solomon Islands, the United Kingdom and the US. Prior to joining New Forests, James worked as Forest Operations Manager for the Malaysian Government on a 490,000 hectare sustainable multi-use reforestation project. He was responsible for the day-to-day forest operations of establishing 18,000 hectares of plantations per annum and 50,000 hectares per annum of post-planting operations. James has a Bachelor of Science in Forest Management from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. He is based in Sydney.
