Asia Pacific
New Forests is developing a sustainable forestry investment strategy in the Asia Pacific region focused on existing rubberwood and timber plantations, greenfield timber plantations and mixed land-use areas, including reduced emissions from deforestation and degradation (REDD). Primarily targeting investment opportunities in Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam, New Forests provides clients with exposure to rapidly growing Asian markets with a strategic focus on high-value tropical hardwoods.
New Forests also manages eco product investments in the region, including REDD projects in Indonesia and the Malua Wildlife Habitat Conservation Bank. The New Forests Asia team works closely with the New Forests US team to analyse REDD policy and market developments and advocate for the role of the private sector finance in reducing global deforestation and incentivising sustainable land management.
